Description
Amido Black, Naphthol Blue-Black, is a dye that is highly sensitive to protein compounds present in blood.
Previously available only in powder form, this new solution simplifies the use of the reagent at crime scenes and is the ideal choice for recovering footwear impressions or latent fingerprints, even when they are weak or nearly invisible.
Amido Black can be used on both porous and non-porous surfaces. The reaction product produces a strong dark blue coloration and is best suited for use on light-colored surfaces, allowing good visual contrast.
Amido Black solution is now supplied in a spray bottle, eliminating any prior preparation before use at the crime scene.
When stored at room temperature, the solution has a shelf life of up to one year. Although Amido Black is non-flammable, it is corrosive and stains various surfaces.
